Communications Engineer

  • Carry out and close work orders required by MOD and Whitehall and create corrective orders for unfinished/incomplete work scopes.

  • Complete the work order history for MOD DII maintenance systems from paper copies.

  • Commissioned, maintained and repaired secure voice and data communication systems down to component level.

  • Carried out HSE Risk Assessments by local and national policies.

  • Created and carried out internal training for both personnel and site visitors.

  • Commissioned, maintained, repaired and configured Radar Early Warning Systems for offshore installations and shipborne assets

  • Maintained company I.T. equipment and ensured relevant security measures were in place to prevent external threats damaging system integrity.

  • Designed, built and configured I.T. systems for monitoring various client assets throughout the North Sea, South Korea, Middle and Far East

  • Led a team of multi-skilled engineers on various North Sea assets and provided detailed reports to clients.

  • Set clear work objectives, career development and training plans by performing regular meetings to ensure a highly motivated and efficient team.

  • Worked closely with various vendors to attain affordable solutions for clients.

  • In charge of creating quotes and proposals for prospective clients and arranging work packs and personnel for the required jobs.

 

British Army – Royal Corps of Signals & The Highlanders                          1995 - 2008

Soldier / I.T. Manager

  • Squadron Sergeant responsible for the management, training and development of over 100 personnel.

  • 1st in line supporting all I.T. supporting all software & hardware issues and the setup of military network and communication systems.

  • Appointed as Regimental administration manager, responsible for triangulating enemy positions and interoperating intercepted transmissions to land command.

  • In charge of setting up and maintaining Domain Servers, Active Directory and workstation computers for everyday use in both friendly and hostile environments.

  • Responsible for the passing of information between parties through various types of communication structures and or media, including digital L.A.N.D. based wide area networks, satellite and digital encrypted radio signal.

  • Delegated person within the workplace for hardware installation & setup for various types of computer systems and all other I.T. equipment.

  • Accountable for the receiving, storage and issuing of various I.T. equipment including servers, workstations and peripherals.

 

High Profile Events

  • Designed, built and installed; as per BP specification complete video wall (including server, workstation and software) for monitoring entire North Sea offshore installations and shipborne assets over a period of 4 months, completed April 2016.

  • Designed and oversaw the commissioning, maintenance and repairing for the entire communication array for 1st Mechanized Brigade during Operation Agricola 8 in Kosovo 2002.

  • Project managed the installation of the internal Military Network and external internet connections within ‘Slim lines Barracks ‘(Pristina) during Operation Agricola 8.

  • Project managed the commissioning of Account monitoring equipment in the ‘Amal’ field, Libya and oversaw the handover from ‘Bosna-S’ to ‘Harouge Oil Operations’.

  • Took part in Royal duties at Buckingham Palace as part of 16 Signal Regiment.

  • Managed the ‘Bi-Annual’ audit for 1 Mechanized Brigade totalling several billions of pounds of Government equipment.

  • Deployed to various war zones throughout the world including, but not limited to Sierra Leone, Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan.
